Speech development

A language delay is a type of communication disorder. The child may have a language delay if they do not meet the language developmental milestones for their age. The children may have trouble expressing themselves or understanding others. Their delay may involve a combination of hearing, speech, and cognitive impairments.

Language delays are quite common,  delayed speech or language development and may affect 5 to 10 % of preschool-aged children.
