Neonatal hearing screening
In new-borns is hearing screening is performed via otoacoustic emission (OAE) and automated auditory brainstem response (AABR) testing. These physiological, non-invasive, automated screening tests can be performed at the bedside in term and pre-term infants.
A reduced hearing may occur in:
- Oculo-Auriculo-Vertebral Spectrum
- Usher Syndrome
- Congenital cytomegalovirus
- Treacher Collins Syndrome
